LTT Vending names the RNIB their designated charity for 2011.

“When I went blind I couldn’t read the same books as my classmates, it made me want to cry!”
“But then my Mum found RNIB Talking Books. Now I can enjoy all the same stories as my friends
and join in when they talk about them at breaktime.” Lily, 10

LTT Vending is proud to announce their designated company charity for 2011 is the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). Their goal is to raise £10,000, enough money to produce 10 Talking Books for Children.
The RNIB is the U.K.’s leading charity offering information, support and advice to almost two million people with sight loss. People are still losing their sight unnecessarily and the RNIB campaigns to eliminate avoidable sight loss and support research into sight loss and eye health issues.
Fewer than 1 in 20 titles published in the U.K. are available in a format blind and partially sighted people can read. The RNIB’s Talking Book Service offers over 18,000 high quality audio books to over 39,000 people throughout the U.K. making it the largest unabridged collection of audio books in the U.K. Each audio book is read by professional narrators or the author including popular children’s titles such as The “Harry Potter” series – by J.K. Rowling, “Bad Girls” by Jacqueline Wilson and “Twilight” by Stephanie Meyer.
LTT Vending has very strong links to the RNIB as their Chairman, Michael Levi, is himself partially sighted and uses the RNIB’s Talking Book Service. In addition to LTT’s charitable events held throughout the year; they have also pledged to match, £ for £, the money raised by staff for the RNIB, during individual fund raising events.
